During the summer of 2016 I had the amazing opportunity to attend a summer school on "Biosignatures and the Search For Life on Mars" in Iceland sponsored by the Nordic Astrobiology Network and the European Astrobiology Campus.
The hexagonal columns are inspired by the columnar basalt formations found throughout Iceland.

We spent two weeks at the University of Akureyri during the lecture portion of the summer school.
